The Duffy Ag expressed on RBCs, capillaries, and postcapillary venular endothelial cells binds selective CXC and CC chemokines with high affinity. Lee JS,et al. (J Immunol. 2003) studied the ability of various chemokines to bind to Duffy protein and found that the relative IC50 values observed were: GRO < MCP-1 < hDuffy Ab < RANTES < IL-8 <<< MIP-1. GRO1/CXCL1 has the highest affinity for Duffy system.
