Summary: (from NCBI-Entrez) ..[read more]This gene encodes a G protein-coupled receptor with selectivity for three chemokines, termed CXCL9/Mig (monokine induced by interferon-g), CXCL10/IP10 (interferon-g-inducible 10 kDa protein) and CXCL11/I-TAC (interferon-inducible T cell a-chemoattractant)
CXCR3 has its own specific ligands, CXCL9, CXCL10 and CXCL11. Weng Y, et al. (J Biol Chem. 1998)found that CXCR3 also has some avidity for the CXCR4 ligand, SDF-1, and rather surprisingly has considerable affinity for several CC-chemokines, particularly the CCR3 ligands eotaxin and MCP-4.
